Video: Did Lawyer for Kielburger Bros Signal Mark Keilburger to Stop Trashing the Liberals With A Hand Tap??

Mar 18, 2021

Let me start by saying holy Christ I can’t think of any public testimony that was as cringe-worthy and cheap as the Kielburger’s testimony on Monday. From the backdrop props of third-world children (seriously, has anyone who has ever testified before a parliamentary committee ever done anything so smarmy?), to the drama queen demeanor of the brothers themselves, this was a first for many of us.

But then something interesting happened. As Craig Kielburger was doing his best Justin Trudeau impression – overacting, playing for the camera, using an out-of-place, emotional delivery – he was also spending time bashing the Liberal government.

And then he delivered the line of the day, accusing the Trudeau government of “hiding behind a children’s charity by letting it take the fall for their political decisions (tap tap) – and the opposition allowed them.”

The ‘tap tap’ near the end of that statement is attributed to Kielburger attorney William McDowell, who looked like a man bristling at the real-time example before him of how to leave the session without any allies whatsoever.

You see, as soon as McDowell double-tapped the wooden table, Craig Kielburger pivoted to once again trashing the opposition parties, even though he had already spent most of his statement doing just that.

In other words, McDowell signaled to his young client that he was in dangerous waters, and so Kielburger moved away from publicly admonishing the only allies they had left, albeit a lukewarm set of allies who now had all the ammo they needed to never speak in the affirmative about that charity again.

Real-life assassins often use a double-tap – 2 shots to the head – to kill their target. It’s the mark of a professional, and Monday’s version served as a delicious metaphor as we watched Kielburger’s success take two to the head.

See for yourself.
