Video: Dr. Phil (who doesn’t hold a medical license) thinks Coronavirus is a hoax, sort of like his wife’s face.
Welcome to the Darkside, Dr. Phil you backwoods quack. I’m not sure how much Trump paid ‘Not A Dr. Phil’ to advocate on his wacky behalf but it was probably a lot.
Last night Phil appeared on Fox News to convince 330 million American’s that even though 40,000 people are dead and thousands have been buried in mass graves on hart island in NY, this pandemic is no big deal and the real killer is poverty/depression from all he store closings.
Daily Beast: During an appearance on Fox News host Laura Ingraham’s show Thursday night, TV self-help guru Dr. Phil McGraw downplayed the novel coronavirus death toll by comparing the contagious disease to the annual death totals from smoking and other activities. McGraw, who no longer holds any license to practice psychology, advocated for a quick reopening of the country by noting that people will die from poverty due to a crashing economy.
“And they’re doing that because people are dying from the coronavirus,” he proclaimed, before going on to describe deaths from non-communicable means. “I get that. But look, the fact of the matter is we have people dying, 45,000 people a year die from automobile accidents, 480,000 from cigarettes, 360,000 a year from swimming pools, but we don’t shut the country down for that. But yet we are doing it for this and the fallout is going to last for years because people’s lives are being destroyed.”
Hot take, Phil. The car/lung cancer/regular flu comparisons are straight out of a fucking moron’s ‘Just say this’ playbook. Each one of those counterarguments is not only completely irrelevant it’s laughably stupid. Let’s fact-check ‘Not a Dr. Phil’ before you embarrass yourself by repeating anything he said.
- 80% of all traffic fatalities are self-induced or caused by drinking and driving.
- According to The Centers for Disease Control, 3,536 people die from drowning annually, not 360,000
- He’s right about cigarettes. You always wanna slip at least one real fact into your propaganda related rants. Always.
Context is important when comparison shopping death for personal gain. Covid19 is a highly contagious virus responsible for 34,000 deaths in the United States in one month. 12,000 alone in NYC. None of the dead died from anything other than fighting the virus or unknowingly being infected by it through no fault of their own. 671,000 people in the United States are currently infected and have a 1/10 chance of dying through no fault of their own, possibly ending up in one of these mass graves on Hart Island, NY.
As a rule, anyone who grabs at smoking, swimming, or car accidents for comparative death stats, is a fucking moron who’s trying to push a narrative related to furthering propaganda for personal gain, OR they’re just stupid. Dr. Phil is a gun-toting, 2nd amendment freak and Tump supporter due to his tax bracket, without ANY medical perspective or training whatsoever. He’s just a daytime loudmouth whose trading lies for money and relevance and he’s willing to trade your life to sell his wife’s shitty face cream.
BTW, Dr. Phil should be well-versed in reality VS fiction after watching his wife morph into a Sex Doll doppelganger over the past 30 years.
I expect more from ‘Not a Dr. Phil’ and Dr. Oz who’s also willing to kill a few kids to reopen the economy.
As you watch Dr. Oz tout hydroxychloroquine and Hannity insist there’s “no risk” to the drug, remember a world-renowned biologist told Fox News hours earlier it was “irresponsible to promote this drug” and these “quack cures” were “utter nonsense.” pic.twitter.com/NSAhZ3yqBH

If Oz is right re the mortality rate and he’s willing to trade a better economy for some measly school kids, 3 percent of 76 million students amounts to 2.3 million dead kids which to me sounds like a bad trade.
Taking your Pandemic cues from an unlicensed counselor or a TV doctor who hasn’t practiced medicine for 15 years seems risky, but maybe that’s just me.
