According to this dude’s TL, this happened at Pilgrim Rink in Hingham, Mass., during a men’s league game Saturday night.
As the story allegedly goes, the green team was pissed off at the scorekeeper kid because he was trying to keep one of their teammates in the locker room after said teammate allegedly already punched a ref in the game. So you’ve got a ref getting punched, a whole team cornering a kid off the ice, and then some gigantic piece of shit sucker punching the shit out of him. And to make matters worse, the kid ate it like it was medium rare sloppy steak.
The kid took a healthy beating and stood there wondering why adults turn into cock suckers when they strap on skates. Throw in a few cases of Milwaukee’s Best and a few pregame Limoncello shots, and you’ll get a piss-drunk men’s league hero who’ll probably never play another beer league game in the state of Massachusetts as long as he lives.
It’s a tale as old as time here in Canada. Young angry men morph into older angry men who try to exercise resentment from not making it to the show. Instead, they’ve been forced into a lifetime of hourly employment and when someone fucks with their men’s league ‘W’, they lose their proverbial shit.
