Christine Brennan is an OUTSTANDING journalist who has zero problems buttering a question with deadly stoic accuracy.

Yesterday, Christine crushed Phil Mickelson’s soul in his first press conference since bolting the PGA tour for the Saudi-funded LIV tour.  Phil was sent a letter from families of 9/11 victims criticizing his decision to work with the same people who helped hijackers fly jumbo jets into the World Trade Center 21 years ago.

That’s when the wheels fell off.

Oh, Phil.

You’re opening statements were just as, UUHH, you know, AAHH, fucking embarrassing.  I want to give him a little credit for standing in there for 25 minutes, but this set the tone for what we saw yesterday, which can only be described as a complete and total PR disaster.

This is the face and demeanor of a man who legitimately is helping the Saudi Government sport wash a murderous regime.

Super defensive word salads followed by a series of unintelligible rambling answers because he wants to scream “$200 million!”

“Phil, why are you betraying thousands of dead 9/11 victims and their families?”

$200 million!!

“Why are you propping up a murderous regime?

$200 million!!

Phil, tell us why you walked away from all your principles, PGA tour relationships, and common sense?”

$200 fucken million!!

There’s no follow-up question if Phil tells the truth, and he is universally despised now, so say it, Phil.

Instead of hiding behind “work-life balance” and “Amy and I used to be friendly with these guys,” just scream “$200 Million” and be done with it, bud.  It’s over.
