Good thing NOTHING else is happening in Quebec.

CTV:  The Bloc Quebecois has offered a suggestion for Montreal store clerks accustomed to greeting customers with ‘Bonjour-Hi!’

The Bloc is suggesting the more festive, and less English, ‘Bonjour-Ho!’

Twitter erupted when the Bloc posted the suggestion, along with its campaign “2021: On touche du bois!” 

“Montreal will also benefit from the ‘Bonjour-Ho!” campaign, which promotes the use of French,” the Bloc wrote.

The campaign comes on the heels of Quebec politicians trying to eliminate the popular “bonjour-hi!” greeting often used by sales clerks and business owners trying to accommodate shoppers in the metropolis who could speak either French or English as their first language. 

The province’s minister responsible for French, Simon Jolin-Barrette, said he plans to announce revisions to the province’s language laws in the new year. He also spoke last year about ways to ban the use of the phrase “bonjour-hi.” 

Long-serving Bloc MP Louis Plamondon also spoke recently about French’s demise in Montreal and the need to do more to encourage people to speak French.

“In Montreal, it’s in very big danger,” he said. “I was in Montreal three weeks ago and in each business that I went, they spoke English with me first and often they had difficulty giving me an answer in French.“

Yeah, ok.  The Bloc Quebecois hates the English language so much, they want to remove the English part (which already always comes after the French bit according to Quebec’s language laws) of “Bonjour-Hi”?

And replace it with ‘HO’?

The Bloc Quebecois is hardline French so they take any chance they have to remind everyone else how much they hate the rest of the country.  Including during a fucking massive global pandemic that’s killed thousands of Quebecor’s, apparently.  THAT’S how much the ruling provincial party HATES English.

And what about the prostitutes?  Do they not matter in Quebec either?  Is the Bloc just going to throw around “HO” like they’re all perfect?

I think I speak for 90% of all Canadians when I say, we don’t care.

Change ‘Bonjour-Hi’ to “Bonjour-Ho’.

Maybe put that anti-English sentiment into Virus prevention or come up with a plan to deal with Quebec’s soaring homeless issue.  A quarter of all homeless Canadians come from Quebec, btw.  There’s a reason Quebec has the second-highest positivity rate in the country. They care more about fucking over the English language than they do about actual things that matter to Quebecor’s because they’re so angry about losing the rest of the country to the British.

Get over it.  It’s been 400 years.  Everyone is dead from the Plains Of Abraham scuffle in 1759 when British Troops beat the shit out of the French to take control of Quebec city.

I wasn’t there either but it sounds like the French were CREAMED by British and Canadian Indigenous forces which is probably the main reason as to why they are still pissed.

Whatever.  Bonjour-Hi and Bonjour-Ho, then take your Separatist French party and shoot them into the sun out of an old British cannon, for old times sake.
