Video: Runner With Cerebral Palsy Signs NIKE Contract After Race And It Will Make Your Heart Soar
Justin Gallegos became the first Nike pro runner after finishing a cross-country race and had no Idea it was being filmed.
Nike has caught on to the fact humanity; not perfection is worth holding up as an example.
Gallegos life dream is to finish a half marathon in under 2 hours. It’s been his goal since he was a little kid in leg braces refusing to let Cerebral Palsy define him.
The more NIKE sides with the human spirit instead of success as defined by societal norms, the more I feel like we’re starting to turn a corner.
Then I remember Nike is the same company that pays Asian kids 1 dollar a day to make the shoes Gallegos wears, and I get sad.
Maybe I’ll just put this runners video on repeat and forget about the 8-year-old working 19 hours a day that made this possible.
I guess if you wear shoes, you’re just as guilty as Nike of child exploitation but, you know what I mean.
