Video: Russian Pilots Ideally Should Know The Difference Between Up And Down: “that’s it, we’re ******.”

Mar 6, 2018

The captain aboard the ill-fated airliner that crashed outside Moscow last month scrambled to tell his co-pilot to gain altitude instead of tilting the plane to the ground, according to newly released cockpit voice recordings.

Cockpit recordings transcribed and published by the RBC business outlet on Tuesday reveal the harrowing last conversation between captain Valery Gubanov and co-pilot Sergei Gambaryan

“I understood you wanted to […] but instead you’re going down,” Gubanov is cited as saying while the plane’s warning system alerts the pilots to “compare speed.”

“Why are you going down?! Where?! […] Altitude! Altitude! Altitude! […] Up!” Gubanov implores as the warning system warns “Terrain ahead! PULL UP!”

The recording cuts off after the captain is heard saying “that’s it, we’re ******.”

If you have to ask a co-pilot “why are you going down” when you see the ground ahead you have the worlds shittiest co-pilot.

Is it me or do more planes crash in Russia than any other country in the world?   Yesterday a Russian cargo plane went down in Syria trying to drop acid on innocent people and ISIS seems to be able to blow their shit up at will.

My brother flies all over the world building wells and starting schools because he’s way nicer than me.  He said he’d rather fly Air Afghanistan.  He said pilots smoke on board and he always smells booze on Russian pilots breath and on one flight saw a co-pilot passed out piss drunk on a flight aftre he was pulled out of the cockpit.

Love the last words of the Captain.  It takes a real man to point out the obvious second before everyone dies and “That’s it.  We’re Fucked” is all time.
