Joe Rogan: “Saying Jews Aren’t Into Money Is Like Saying Italians Aren’t Into Pizza.” Dude.

Feb 8, 2023

Joe had Krystal Ball on his show to talk about Israeli foreign policy (something Joe knows nothing about), and he was WAY too fucking high for this conversation.

Today, the Jewish establishment and normal human beings are dragging him for this RED hot comparison.

“Saying Jews don’t like money is like saying Italians don’t like Pizza.

“No Bueno”

The conversation was about Ilhan Omar publicly questioning the Israeli State’s ongoing treatment of Palestine as an apartheid, marginalized State and the decades-long blockade of their people.

Omar was kicked off a congressional committee and asked to apologize for making a seemingly anti-Semitic statement. Krystal is a foreign policy hawk and terrific journalist who thought she was coming to talk to Joe about Israeli foreign policy. Joe decided to slide in a negative money stereotype about the Jews, and Joe now has some answering to do.

Source: Rogan has a long history of antisemitic and bigoted remarks and content. In January, he called Jewish philanthropist and Holocaust survivor George Soros as evil as a Batman villain. Soros has become a target of the right, which often portrays him in a stereotypically Jewish manner and uses anti-Jewish dog whistles.

In October, the Simon Wiesenthal Center released a statement criticizing Rogan for having Pink Floyd bassist Roger Waters on his program to discuss the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Waters has made repeated remarks about a “Jewish lobby” in the United States. On Monday, English writer Polly Samson accused Waters of being an antisemite, a sentiment that was seconded by her husband: Waters’ former bandmate David Gilmour.

Last year, Rogan apologized after a video compiling all the times he used the N-word on his show went viral.

Negative stereotypes of marginalized people subjected to thousands of years of genocide never go over well.

Aside from Joe’s right to speak his mind, I find these easy-to-reach stereotypical comments lazy as fuck. Saying ‘Jews love money like Italians love pizza’ is antisemitic because he’s forcing a negative stereotype around people who’ve been hunted, murdered, and tortured for generations against an innocuous stereotype of folks who like Pizza.

It’s a false equivalence, and it’s purposeful. Joe’s bias dictates Joe’s words. Especially after pounding a pre-show glass of Kratom and a gravity bong.

Krystal was trying to have a conversation about foreign powers using and collecting funds in DC. She wasn’t there to reinforce anti semetic Stereotypes. Because Joe can’t keep up, he leans back into his bias, and suddenly “Jews like money like Italians like Pizza.”

Maybe Joe is running out the string on Spotify’s $200 Million, or perhaps he’s in that place where he thinks he’s bigger than negative/racialized stereotypes. It’s never been career-limiting for him.

If it walks like a duck…
