Video: The Entire World Turning Their Backs On LeBron James Is Hilarious

Last week LeBron said Rockets Owner Darryl Morrey’s Pro Hong Kong tweet was misinformed and problematic for him. Today he addressed the issue of his selfishness by being more selfish and I LOVED it.
LeBron doubles down.
Q: “Do you have a sense of how what you said was felt in Hong Kong?”@KingJames: “No, I had a sense of how it felt for me. When I speak upon things I speak from a very logical standpoint. Things that hit home for me.” (via @billoram)pic.twitter.com/DShmyPLbMr

What’s also fair is they are now burning the shit out of LeBron Jerseys in HK chanting “Fuck Lebron” Sure he contradicted the shit out of himself in the same quote and sure, President XI of China said he was going to ground the Hong Kong protestors ‘bones into dust’ and LeBron doesn’t seem concerned. Because A) he had a sense of how it felt “For Him” B) he Always speaks upon things from a ‘logical standpoint’ (like trademarking ‘Taco Tuesday’) and that logical standpoint only comes from things that C) Hit Home To ‘Him”.
He’s basically saying ‘I only give a shit about me and things around me that affect me and if doesn’t affect me, I don’t give a shit.’
It’s a dark way to be, but I sorta respect him for what he’s trying to say.
What he’s trying to say is, ‘Listen, I play basketball and that whole thing was a pain in the ass when we were in China and I make loads over there so I’ll pass.’
Did he sell out Darryl Morrey? Yup
Does he care? Nope.
And why should he? He doesn’t get paid to weigh in on Hong Kong extradition protests and with comments like that, I’m glad he doesn’t.
LeBron or any athlete for that matter doesn’t have to care about the things you care about and you should get used to it instead of calling James a ‘Murderer’ online. I haven’t talked about the protests because there is ZERO upside to having an opinion on an issue you know relatively nothing about.
I hate LeBron James and everything about LeBron James because it’s ALWAYS about LeBron James. From rings to geopolitical unrest it will always be about how he can get the most out of whatever that ‘thing’ might be.
I also know this Hong Kong/China unrest scares the shit out of him. Nike has posted double-digit revenue gains in China and HK for 17 consecutive years. They pulled $2 billion out of China the last year and all things LeBron accounted for over a billion of that. I highly doubt he’s gone to great lengths to understand it and educate himself so staying close to his investment is important to him.
It means LeBron is what we always knew he was, so why act surprised.
Hong Kong freedom fighters respond to LeBron James comments: “Hey F**K off James!”

Bottom line: Don’t look to LeBron James for solidarity unless he’s got some skin in the game.
Actually, It might not the worst way to be. Staying in your lane is a good thing these days.
