Video: The Latest Trailer for Mike Myers’ The Pentaverate is Here and It’s F****ING Weird!

What the hell was that? I’m somehow intrigued and turned-off all at the same time.

Mike Myers is a legend, let’s just get that out of the way. From Second City to SNL, from Wayne’s World to Shrek and Austin Powers we all love him and his impact on society. But this…this feels odd. I’d like to say I’ll reserve judgement for when it’s actually released and I watch a bit of it but we all know that’s not possible.

Let’s put it this way I had to look up what I just watched. Here’s the offical despcription:

Since the Black Plague in 1347, five men have been working to influence world events for the greater good. One unlikely Canadian journalist finds himself in the middle of a mission to expose the truth and, in the process, save the world

It’s not a terrible premise for an Austin Powers inspired movie but then you find out that it’s going to be a six-episode mini-series and suddenly I’m confused again.

I will note that for a company that is extremly effective at marketing it’s exclusive content I think that Netflix has chosen to release the first teaser trailer a month before launch and first full trailer a week beforehand says something about their expectations of The Pentaverate.

Maybe it’ll be amazing and I’ll end up eating my words and walking around quoting it like I did “Scwhing” and “Do I make you horny baby?!” and “Orgre’s are like onions” but I’ll bet you one copy of The Love Guru that I’m not.
