Tow truck drivers in the US are way nicer than they are here in Toronto. If this woman tried to drive off that truck in North Toronto at 2 am you might never see her again.
This is from last week’s super cringy tow truck war in Toronto. This has been happening for 30 years. The tow truck industry in the GTA is basically an organized crime syndicate and they take taking your car very seriously.

Murders, truck fires, etc., Toronto’s tow truck drivers and their towing companies are fucking insane. It’s not just about the tow fee, it’s about getting kickbacks from auto wreckers and body shops too. Each towing company has preferred clients they work with and those clients are required to show the owners of these towing companies cash money in return for bringing them business, so the drivers are ruthless.

PS: This woman was arrested at home 20 minutes after the hit and run and she’s facing several charges. After paying her legal bill, she’ll probably need a loan to get her SUV out of the impound lot, then there’s the issue of getting her car payments current.
