Stevie Wonder has next!
In 2021, Army vet and all-around good guy Aaron James took 7200 volts to the face while working on a power line. The left side of his face and left arm exploded, leaving him disfigured.
Doctors at NYU heard about Arron’s case, and in May, they performed the first partial face and whole eye transplant in history.
Aaron James, who survived a 7,200-volt electric shock while working as a lineman in June 2021, recently received the world’s first whole-eye and partial face transplant at NYU Langone Health, providing him a new sense of normalcy.

Bananas. Just, BANANAS. Face transplants are old news. WHOLE EYE Transplants are where the big money is, and Aaron’s doctor knows it.
Check out his story. They featured Aaron’s journey on GMA (Nate Burleson talking about eye transplants is funny), and every doctor except Aaron’s doctor said the whole eye transplant wouldn’t take place and the eye wouldn’t work.
Well, guess what, you negative nellies? The eye registers light in the brain, and Aaron looks like a young Jake the Snake Roberts.
Ever heard the term "see the world through someone else's eyes?"
Well this is exactly what the recipient of the worlds first whole eye transplant is doing.

Think of the possibilities. Human eyes will become a commodity, and every human with severe vision issues is probably vibrating with this news.
There’s no timetable for Aaron’s recovery, and there’s no guarantee he’ll be able to see out of his transplanted eye, but he looks like a million bucks again. Now he has something he didn’t after his horrific accident: Hope.
Sometimes, it’s all you need.
