Rowdy Tellez puts a charge into the first MLB pitch he sees #BlueJays https://t.co/VWivvRC73D

Now, this is a good story.
The Blue Jays continued rewarding minor league foot soldiers yesterday, and Rowdy Tellez provided the best moment of this abysmal season last night.
Rowdy was (is) one of the Jays top prospects, and he’s had a tough couple of years off the field. Rowdy’s mom lost her battle with brain cancer recently, and Rowdy has missed significant time flying back and forth to be with his ailing mom this year has been shitty.
Tellez got the nod to pinch hit from Gibby and promptly hit the first pitch he saw to dead center, collecting his first XBH and RBI double in the process telling himself to “Just try not to cry” as he coasted into second.
A beautiful moment in a tough season for the Blue Jays that saw them use a record 60 players over the course of 162 mostly pointless games. This one was special, and I’m happy for Rowdy and that great big smile of his.
