Hurricane Fiona made landfall in Atlantic Canada yesterday, and it’s still demoing large portions of Canada’s east coast.
Around 500k are without power as Fiona packed 150 MPH winds and two months’ worth of rain in less than 24 hours.
SO far there are no reported casualties but the devastation is real.

I was able to get a little (fitful) nap in after being up most of the night in the storm.
I couldn’t see this earlier in the dark, but the tree in our backyard has been ripped apart. #HurricaneFiona #PEI pic.twitter.com/hwnQHEzotc— Teresa Wright (@ReporterTeresa) September 24, 2022

These are hearty people who’ve spent the last 200 years getting fisted by hurricanes, squalls and storms. The east coast family vibe is real so they’ll pitch in and dig out while hammering screech, singing sea songs dancing jigs.
Orm they’ll just smoke their way through it.
