Watch Here: The Maple Leafs Looked Awfully Soft Saturday Night As The Bruins Doubled Them Up 6-3

The Toronto Maple Leafs got pushed around in Bean Town.

Early on during Saturday’s game, Boston was relentless. They were faster than the Leafs, they were finishing all of their checks, and some would argue even, the Leafs looked scared at times.

Trailing by 1 after the first, the Leafs needed a boost.

Unfortunately, it never came.

Boston doubled their lead on the PP 8 minutes into the 2nd, and never really looked back from there.

Nazem Kadri tried to do his part by throwing 3 bombs before Brandon Carlo even realized he was in a fight.

Despite the yelling at his bench while skating to the sin bin, the fight didn’t do shit.

Some game notes from here:

Zach Hyman also dropped the gloves Saturday night, after he delivered a late hit in the corner on recently concussed Charlie McAvoy and had to defend himself. The ‘older brother’ in him came out as he handled his business just fine.

Ron Hainsey had the highlight of the night as he was calling on Chris Wagner after Wagner tried to take Morgan Rielly’s head off.

Leafs trailed 4-0 early on in the 3rd, and it was over from there.

Travis Dermott tallied his 2nd of the year and was one of the best D-Men on the ice Saturday night. Seems to be a theme as Dermott has been solid all year. Won’t be long before he is chipping in offensively on a regular basis.

Auston Matthews tried to take over the 3rd period and was flying, dangling, and getting everything to the net. He was rewarded with a goal in close about halfway through the 3rd. Matthews is now on pace for 68 goals and 111 points.

Freddie got mercy pulled. Sparks didn’t look too bad, however, look for Freddie to bounce back next game with one of his best.

A lot of chatter about the Leafs being interested in a certain d-man in St Louis. After Saturday night they may want to take a look at a cheaper rental in Detroit with a little sandpaper.

ICYMI, here’s a condensed game full of all the essentials from Saturday night:
