During today’s Question Period, one of Pierre Poilievre’s Conservative Party of Canada’s MPs made a homophobic remark directed at the Prime Minister.

This led to a tense exchange between the Prime Minister and Speaker Fergus.

Watch here:

“Mr. Speaker, standing up to bullies requires us to call them out on their crap sometimes, and that’s what I will do.” – PMJT

The Speaker of the House, Greg Fergus, said that he heard the comment but did not rise to address it because he wasn’t sure which MP said it.

It’s difficult to hear what was actually said, but ‘TinyDancer’ is correct:

UPDATE: As @Red_Toryism points out it was clearly CPC MP Garnet Genuis who made the homophobic remark.

WATCH:

Journalist Dale Smith was present in the House of Commons and tweeted a thread about it:

After QP NDP MP Blake Desjarlais stood on a point of order to address the homophobic remarks by one of Pierre Poilievre’s CPC MPs:

This all happened on the day that Pierre Poilievre, the leader of His Majesty’s Official Opposition, tried to bring down the government with a vote of non-confidence.

Pierre Poilievre failed.
