UPDATE: It has been reported that Fox News was calling this a terrorist attack at the time. Fox has since backtracked and the Governor of New York, Kathy Hochul, stated that it does not look like a terrorist attack.

So, without any valid proof, Pierre Poilievre rushed to call it a terrorist attack.

News of an attack/explosion at the Canada/US border JUST broke:

That news broke just half an hour before Question Period began in the House of Commons.

Pierre Poilievre’s first two questions were about the attack.

The first in French here:

So, for the first question, he just asked the Prime Minister for any information on the incident.

Then, he just couldn’t help himself.

By the 2nd question, he was already politicizing the event:

“It is the principal responsibility of government to protect the people. Can the Prime Minister give us an update on what he knows and what action plan he will immediately implement to bring home security for our people?”

So he immediately had to suggest this somehow a failure on the PM’s behalf and then shoehorn in his “bring it home” slogan.

You know what the truly sad thing is? This was 100% predictable:
