On March 8, 2020, just as Canadians were facing the beginning of Covid-19, facing lockdowns and fearful about how they were going to keep a roof over their head, this is what Pierre Poilievre had to say about programs like CERB:
Mar 8/20: @PierrePoilievre is asked if he supports special measures in the March budget
to help Canadians deal with #COVID19Pierre responds "You might want to address it with 'big fat government programs', were CONS so we dont believe in that". #Cdnpoli pic.twitter.com/ifw9LGu8Hf

Well, today, as leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, this is what Pierre Poilievre said during Question Period when Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland reminded us all of what he said three years ago:
“Mr. Speaker. Today, the Conservatives have shown their true colours. The leader of the official opposition actually bragged about his comments three years ago. That’s when he railed against “big fat government programs.” Do you know what those were? That was the emergency support we provided to Canadian families and Canadian businesses to get through covid. ” – Chrystia Freeland.
You can hear Pierre Poilievre PROUDLY yell, “Hear, hear!” in the background while she’s speaking.
So they say the best indicator of future behaviour is past behaviour, and today Pierre Poilievre confirmed that if another emergency such as Covid-19 were to strike with him as Prime Minister, he’d leave you out of your home, me out of my home and all of us out in the cold with no home.
That’s his plan to “bring home” safety during a crisis.
