What Is Stephen Harper’s “IDU” And Why Are His Friends And Members Being Accused Of Operating Terror/Disinformation Networks In Canada?

Oct 15, 2024

Why is it that former Canadian PM Stephen Harper’s friends from his “IDU” org keep getting in trouble for foreign interference around the world?

It’s a great question.

Stephen Harper’s International Democratic Union (IDU) has been scrutinized for its associations with controversial political figures and parties worldwide. The organization, which aims to promote conservative values globally, has raised eyebrows due to its connections with individuals accused of undermining democratic institutions and human rights.

Depending on who you ask, Stephen Harper’s IDU is a conservative Stochastic terror org that coordinates with other religious conservative international dictators, or it’s a global Conservative think tank of some of the worst people in Politics and Business who support nothing but Fascist takeovers of progressive countries and governments.

There’s not a lot of middle ground.

Questionable Affiliations

The IDUs membership roster has included some troubling names, and three are particularly interesting.

Mike Roman: A GOP operative recently indicted in Donald Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 election results. Roman was listed as an Assistant Chairman of the IDU until August 2023, when his name was quietly removed from the organization’s website. Roman has been Charged with insurrection-related crimes in 3 states and was also an advisor to Andrew Scheer and the Conservative Party of Canada’s leader, Pierre Poilievre.

Mike Roman: The Dangerous Shadow Operative Linking Trump’s Election Schemes to Canadian Conservative Politics

Narendra Modi’s BJP: India’s ruling party was a member of the IDU until late 2023, when it was mysteriously scrubbed from the membership list. This coincided with severe allegations of Indian government involvement in the assassination of Sikh activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar on Canadian soil and this weekend’s INSANELY damning announcement by the RCMP that Indian hit squads are murdering and intimidating Canadian citizens on behalf of the Hindu Extremist Indian Government. Modi has now been accused of MAJOR foreign interference and running a hit squad in Canada while helping Stephen Harper’s choice to lead the Conservative Party of Canada, Pierre Polievre.

Viktor Orbán: Hungary’s Prime Minister, widely criticized for his authoritarian tendencies, met with Harper in 2023. Orbán praised Harper as a “great ally” in strengthening cooperation between right-wing parties. Harper MAJOR supports Orban’s “Christian Nationalist” approach to governance in Hungary.

Honorable mention of IDU moron members Liz Truss, Boris Johnson, and this meathead.

The Nijjar Assassination

The killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey, British Columbia, in June 2023 has severely strained Canada-India relations. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau publicly accused India of involvement in the assassination, leading to a diplomatic crisis. This incident has cast a shadow over the IDU’s previous close ties with Modi’s government.

Harper’s Clandestine Approach

A seemingly clandestine approach has characterized the IDU’s operations under Harper’s leadership:

1. Quiet removals: The organization has silently removed controversial members like Roman and the BJP without public explanation.

2. Name change: The organization rebranded from “International Democrat Union” to “International Democracy Union” without fanfare.

3. Embracing far-right figures: Harper has been criticized for meeting with and praising leaders like Orbán despite their anti-democratic actions.

Allegations and Motivations

Critics argue that Harper is using the IDU to court right-wing and hardline conservative parties worldwide, potentially to:

1. Build a global conservative network to counter progressive movements.
2. Influence domestic politics in various countries, including Canada.
3. Promote a particular brand of conservatism that some view bordering on authoritarianism.

The IDU’s activities raise questions about the organization’s true purpose and its potential impact on democratic institutions globally. As former Canadian Prime Minister, Harper’s leadership of this group has drawn particular attention and concern from those who fear the normalization of far-right ideologies within mainstream conservative movements. And if his “members” keep getting charged in murder-for-hire/insurrection plots in North America, we should probably start asking and scrutinizing whatever the fuck the IDU is and does.

Yesterday.
