Why did Justin and Sophie Trudeau book a $6000, 3-bed suite For the Queen’s funeral?

Remember Bev Oda?

Oda was the very first Japanese-Canadian MP and cabinet minister in our nation’s history. Then one day, after staying at the Savoy Hotel in Westminster, London, UK, at a cost of $665/per night, she made the fatal mistake of ordering orange juice, at a cost of $16/per glass. She also said at the time that she switched rooms so she could smoke without having to go outside.

What a horrible person!

Our entire nation clutched its collective pearls at her. How could anyone spend $665/a night, and then top that off with a gazillion dollar OJ?

Fast forward to today and it seems we are living not just in a different tie, but a different planet.

That’s because Justin Trudeau’s expenses from the trip he took to the UK for the Queen’s funeral are so extravagant that Bev Oda looks like a frugal public service in comparison.

Trudeau and his wife Sophie spent $6000/a night for a hotel room that specifically requested three beds, despite the latest reports that Justin and Sophie are, in fact, just two people.. Two married people. Allegedly.

The 5 day trip cost taxpayers more than $400, 000.00. Did I mention it also came with butler service?

When asked about these expenses the prime minister had this to say via a written statement.

“The death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was a significant event for Canadians. Canada was represented by former prime ministers and governors general to pay their respects to the monarch who oversaw almost half of Canada’s time as an independent country.”

I know we live in a different world today, but if we are not collectively admonishing the prime minister for this insane expense, we should at the very least understand that, as a country, we all owe Bev Oda an apology.
