With Lamar Jackson the Patriots could once again become a dominant force in the NFL

Mar 28, 2023

Robert Kraft, the owner of the New England Patriots, shared an interesting tidbit from a recent ownership meeting held in Arizona. According to Kraft, rapper Meek Mill recently texted him, saying that he thinks Lamar Jackson would be a great fit for the Patriots. Kraft responded that it would ultimately be up to head coach Bill Belichick to make that decision.

Since then, some have speculated that the Patriots may consider making a move for Jackson in the future, possibly after the 2023 NFL Draft. At that point, the two first-round draft picks that would be required to acquire Jackson from the Baltimore Ravens would come from the 2024 and 2025 drafts.

Of course, this is all just speculation at this point. But it’s interesting to consider the possibility of Jackson donning the Patriots’ uniform in the future. With his impressive speed and arm strength he could certainly add another dimension to the team’s offense. Only time will tell if this rumor ultimately comes to fruition.

As the NFL offseason continues to ramp up, fans of the New England Patriots are cautiously optimistic about the team’s chances in the upcoming season. After three years of mediocrity since the departure of legendary quarterback Tom Brady, head coach Bill Belichick is looking to change the team’s fortunes and embrace a win-now mentality.

At 70 years old, Belichick is no stranger to success, having won six Super Bowls with the Patriots during his tenure. But now, the coach is facing a new challenge as he looks to rebuild the team and lead them back to the top of the league.

One of the key changes in Belichick’s approach is his willingness to adjust the offensive system to better suit the team’s strengths. Belichick has praised Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson as an MVP-caliber player and has reunited with former coordinator Bill O’Brien to revamp the team’s offensive playbook.

Belichick has remained tight-lipped about the future of incumbent quarterback Mac Jones, who was drafted in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Despite Jones’ potential, Belichick’s focus has been on revitalizing the team’s run game and establishing a short-field approach with the help of new signings James Robinson, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Mike Gesicki.

As the offseason progresses, Patriots fans will be waiting eagerly to see what moves Belichick and the team make. With a new offensive system, promising young talent, and the potential for a marquee quarterback acquisition, there is reason to believe that the Patriots could once again become a dominant force in the NFL.
