Angry, Depression, Leafs Lose Game 1 in Boston
Well folks, remember last year I did these Leaf playoff recap articles, Im back for another round as a sicko who enjoys pain, suffering, depression and a combination of the three.
Maple Leafs lost game 1, 5-1 over the Boston Bruins, now I’m not here to say oh I expected them to win this game or anything, but 5-1 and your star 10+ million dollar players are silent is simply pathetic and inexcusable.
This game starts off with the Maple Leafs flying and then on Boston’s first shot of the game, John Beecher beat Samsonov clean and 1-0 Bruins. The rest of the first period was quiet, thanks to an inept Leafs offence and Sammy saving the teams bacon, one too many times.

The second period had fans hoping of, oh if only we can get one goal, we’ll be good, we’ll be fine, Leafs in 5. Wrong, on Boston’s first shot of the second period, Brandon Carlo, tickled the twine behind Sammy and 2-0 Bruins, pain ensues for Leafs Nation. Before all of this, Auston Matthews hit a post on an empty net ish from Jeremy Swayman.

While David Pastrňák and Brad Marchand, remained quiet and didn’t contribute a whole lot to this game, we were reminded that when Boston needs someone to steps up, they do exactly that, and that player was Jake DeBrusk who stepped up potting two power play goals after an undisciplined high stick from Matthews and a soft slash from Domi.

Third period, David Kampf made it 4-1 and for some reason Sheldon Keefe pulled the goalie, Trent Frederic made it 5-1 and that’s the final.
For Monday, please get it together Toronto, otherwise Doubt will settle in and no one wants that. See you all Monday.

Hi, my name is Griff and I'm a complete sports nut. I love to play sports, watch sports and most importantly bet on sports too. If I'm not watching or betting on sports, you can find me on the golf course, between the pipes as your average beer league goaltender. Although sports take up most of my life, I also love spending time with my two dogs, streaming usually a 90's Simpson's or attempting to read more books.
