The Pagani Zonda Anija. Japan, you’ve done it again. What a place. Want to drift a mountain road? Done. Take in some of the most ridiculous custom cars in the world? No problem. Drive a Le Mans car on public roads to pick up milk? If you’ve got the Yen then come on down!

Japan is a Mecca for the car-obsessed. From the manufacturing giants that churn indestructible pickup trucks to six-figure supercar tuners, the Land of the Rising Sun’s got something for everyone. It’s a nation of misty mountains and neon mega-cities where the car culture is just as varied as the scenery.

And so, from that insane combination of old and new comes this; the Pagani Zonda Anija. The last part of that title, Anija, is the name of the tuning company responsible for turning this Zonda C12 S into something absolutely wild and unique. From their workshop in Adachi, northern Tokyo, Anija’s designers and fabricators took on the not-undaunting task of altering the Zonda’s body to really showcase their talents and abilities. Success!

The crazy road jet has the same chassis and engine from the original car but the body is all new with a new single exhaust to replace the quad-pipe setup on the more pedestrian Zonda. Look at that spoiler! Japan! It takes daring and skill to even attempt something like this and for me the results are well worth the risk here. The Zonda Anija is one-of-a-kind and I love it.
