Down By Two And Crier Media Receive Media Credentials To Cover The Orlando Magic

Oct 25, 2023

It’s official.

Down By Two and Crier Media are officially credentialed by the NBA to cover the Orlando Magic this 2023/2024 regular season. A huge milestone for the show and network, this is our first season covering NBA games, live from sunny Orlando.

The Orlando Magic tip off their 35th Anniversary season as one of the most exciting young teams in the league with a lot of hype and increased expectations. Led by head coach Jamahl Mosley, the Magic upped their win total by 12 from the year before, finishing the season at 34-48. With pieces like the reigning ‘Rookie of the Year’ Paulo Banchero, who’s fresh off his stint with the USA National Team, and dynamic young forward Franz Wagner, there’s a lot to continue building on with this Magic squad.

These are the reasons why we chose to work with the Orlando Magic and commit to giving our audience an inside look on not only the organization but the league as a whole. We have carefully selected 5 games as we will provide courtside coverage, fan interviews, pregame and postgame pressers and as much in-game content as we possibly can.

Here’s a quick breakdown of each of our visits to the ‘O’. Each game will have some sort of loose connection to our Toronto Raptors and the landscape of the Eastern Conference as a whole.

January 19th: Philadelphia 76ers

We’re excited to get a closer look at the drama that constantly surrounds this Philadelphia squad. Whether it’s Harden’s discontent with the organization or our former coach Nick Nurse and his ‘X’ burner account, this will be an interesting matchup to report on when it comes to the cohesiveness of this new-ish look for the 76ers.

February 10th: Chicago Bulls

Chicago finds themselves in a similar situation with the Raptors as the direction of this season seems a bit murky. Do they tear it down and rebuild, or stay the path and look to add? Matchups like this will be very exciting as the Magic have something to prove, so if they can take care of the Bulls, it will go a long way to putting some separation between them and the middle of the Eastern Conference pack.

Also, we need to get some post-game interviews with our boy DeMar DeRozan,

March 17th: Toronto Raptors

No explanation needed as we had this one aggresively circled on the calendar and requested it first in our list of games. We couldn’t be more excited to give our audience an exclusive look at our Raptors squad in Orlando.

March 29: Los Angeles Clippers

When given an opportunity to cover former Raptors Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers, we have to take it. Here’s to hoping that ‘The Claw’ can stay healthy and will be available post-game. If not, there’s always Norman Powell!

March 30th: Memphis Grizzlies

The second game of a back-to-back, this is a fun game to end our leg of coverage. Though they’re not an Eastern Conference team, this matchup comes at a point in the season that will be crucial for both teams and shaping the playoff picture. Plus, Ja Morant would have served his 25 game suspension so this one will be flat out fun.

Be sure to follow along with Down By Two and Crier Media on all social platforms as we give you Orlando Magic and NBA coverage this season.
