Metallica shared a version of “Sad But True (Take 36 – February 5th, 1991)” that you’ll hear on the “Rough & Alternate Mixes” 2CD in their upcoming remastered “The Black Album” deluxe box set! It’s being released September 10 on their Blackened Recordings label.

The Black Album changed the band’s life. It’s easily one of the most commercially (16 million sold) and critically acclaimed albums; their first #1 album (in 10 countries) and had five huge singles – “Enter Sandman”, “The Unforgiven”, “Nothing Else Matters”, “Wherever I May Roam” and “Sad But True”. The album remains the best-selling album of the past 30 years.

Included in the box is the ‘tribute’ album “The Metallica Blacklist”, where more than 50 artists recorded songs to celebrate Metallica. All profits from the album will be split evenly between Metallica’s All Within My Hands foundation and 50+ charities chosen by the artists who play on the album.
