Soon-to-be former Blue Jays GM won’t be winning any “Profiles in Courage” awards soon.
His end-of-year presser today was a lesson in how to passive-aggressively embarrass the fuck out of your employer and millions of fans, blaming his manager (who he plans to bring back next year) for basically everything.

On top of FAILING for over half a decade, he didn’t just shift the blame; he FUCKED over his Manager, John Schneider, in what can only be described as one of the most GUTLESS statements ever made by a Toronto sports executive.
Then, Ross lied.
Two Things:
- John Schneider should be fired regardless of Ross Atkin’s “It was HIM!” press conference. There’s a reason the Blue Jays were the six seed, and it had a lot to do with John Schneider’s in-game decision-making.
- Ross Atkins needs to be fired into the unemployed baseball sun. On top of his abysmal playoff record and inability to win the AL East, Atkins has been an annual embarrassment at the trade deadline and would win the ‘half measures” MLB award if Rob Manfred gave one out. He should also lose his gig after turning on his Manager on live TV like fucking FBI snitch in the Trump trial. John Schneider didn’t acquire Paul DeJong at the deadline or trade Moreno and Gurriel for Dalton Varsho because he liked Alejandro Kirk and Danny Jansen.
Ross and Mark Shapiro did that while pretending they knew how to build a winner, which neither has done. Ever.
Vlad had a terrible year.
Kirk regressed into what an out-of-shape 5’6 catcher should have been.
Varsho’s offense never materialized.
Matt Chapman was Matt Chaman for the first 30 games.
Manoah lost his control and mind.
Ryu was available for the last 30 games.
The GM and President turn into bargain bin shoppers with every trade deadline.
The GM just sold out his Manager on national TV.
Sick team.
I give it a week before we start hearing dressing room stories about how much “everyone hates Ross” and two weeks before we see Don Mattingly installed as the Jays Manager and ChatGPT as the new GM.
The word Blue Jays fans are looking for is “TOXIC.” Blow it up. We’re only missing two disappointing WC games, so whatever.
