This is the way, of the Selfish Star Wars Fan!

Chris Cochrane Mar 22, 2023

A solid handful of us old-school Star Wars fans remember begging our parents or older siblings to take us to see the life-changing movie STAR WARS “A New Hope”, possibly for the 2nd, 3rd, or an impressive 4th time. Dark, dingy little theaters, no snacks needed thank you. Just our favorite new space heroes and their endless universe of possibilities. That being stated, I’m not afraid to admit that I’m a selfish fan. I really don’t care how the public feels about Star Wars projects as long as I receive the classic fan service that I so humbly deserve.

Although I self admittedly do not purchase the newer toys, I’m always hypnotized by the retro style that is currently on the shelves. I also have “the box” of old figures, vehicles, parts, and accessories that is missing half of everything, but I still hold onto it. The original movie poster by the Hildebrant brothers still gives me the chills. Sidebar; I had a few painting lessons from these masters when I attended the JOE KUBERT school. Every winter I shovel the snow and relate to the planet Hoth and Empire. Quote the movies in general conversations, and of course, open automatic sliding doors with my mind. Overall, Star Wars is something that has embedded itself in my psyche and I have fun with it.

How does this tie into the new Mandalorian you ask?
I am watching history and action revolving around Mandalorians and their planet.
We are slowly getting answers and a possible retcon of the latest incoherent storyline.
More behind the scene action from order 66, and am I the only one who was stoked to see another black Jedi?
Sidebar: Mace Windu solo adventure, please! Sam Jackson is the man.
Luke Skywalker, Luke Skywalker, LUKE FRIGGIN SKYWALKER! And not the wussed-out version that was in the latest film.
The Luke we “Selfish” fans were waiting for. Thanks, dudes.

In the end, though, we don’t care what the world thinks of our solar bible.
It will always be our home galaxy from far, far away.
Thanks, George.
