WATCH: During today’s Question Period Speaker Anthony Rota finally showed up and put the kids in their place.
Finally! FINALLY.
Under Pierre Poilievre’s leadership, the Conservatives took things from bad to worse during Question Period.
All they do is make full use of their parliamentary privilege, spew garbage and lies, then scream and heckle like howler monkeys.
People have been BEGGING Speaker Rota to DO something about it.
Then today this happened:

Could he have done more? Sure.
But this is a start.
He then chose to skip Childish Party of Canada MP’s questions and jumped to questions from MPs at the back of his list. Which led to this incident:
Rota then went on to skip over CPC MPs and take Qs from MPs on the back of the list.

So he basically put the dunces of the CPC in a time-out.
For context, this is how Speaker Rota was handling the childish antics of Poilievre’s CPC back last November:

Then there’s the whole issue of Mr. Rota allowing Pierre Poilievre to scream at an empty chair pretending the Prime Minister is sitting across from him.
Check out Dale Smith’s video if you want a better, firsthand account of Pierre and the CPC’s behaviour. In it, he points out that the Speaker could do something about PP arguing with empty chairs, as you can’t do indirectly what you cannot do directly. In this case, you cannot draw attention to the presence or absence of another MP in the House of Commons.
