In 2012, Mountain City, Tennessee, was the home of an infamous Facebook feud that led to the murders of Billy Payne and Billy Jean Hayworth. Through catfishing and perpetuation a shared delusion, Jenelle Potter played puppet master to get her parents, Marvin and Barbara Potter, and her boyfriend, Jamie Curd, to carry out her vengeful plans.
