Fantasy Football: Joe Mixon & Najee Harris | Bets: Lions Make The Playoffs & Stefon Diggs Rec-Yards
About the Episode
On this episode of the Dear Pats Nation podcast with Ray Rauth, Producer Mike and I take a look at some of fantasy football options, NFL betting, and just some straight up NFL analysis. We promise you this isn’t a typical fantasy show, it’s not a typical football show, this has something for every football fan out there.
The Cincinnati Bengals were Super Bowl runner ups, and quarterback Joe Burrow, and wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase get the majority of the attention. But the Bengals have a really good running back, and despite all the fire power Burrow has at the receiver position, Joe Mixon should be heavily involved in the Bengals game plan. Today we’ll be looking at Joe Mixon’s fantasy value.
Despite having a losing record and not making the playoffs, the Detroit Lions showed a lot of fight, and a roster that could possibly surprise a lot of people. If you wanted to lay a bet on the Lions making the postseason you’d get +450, and that may be a long shot worth betting.
New England Patriots defacto general Manager Bill Belichick made a big splash last year during free agency and signed a lot of big name talent like Jonnu Smith, Hunter Henry, and Matthew Judon. One of the more underrated signings Belichick made was signing former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Kendrick Bourne. According to PFF, Bourne has the second ”highest passer rating generated when targeted last season”. Patriots quarterback Mac Jones had a quarterback rating of 140.9 when targeting Bourne. Could we see the Jones-Bourne connection more this season?
The Buffalo Bills are favourites to win the Super Bowl. Bills’ quarterback Josh Allen is favourite to win NFL MVP. Is it time to take a long hard look at Stefon Diggs and maybe take a gamble that he’ll lead the NFL in receiving yards? He may not be the best wide receiver in the NFL, but he’s definitely a top five. Add Allen to the mix and the +1400 for Diggs to have the most receiving yards seems like a great bet.
The Pittsburgh Steelers’ running back Najee Harris was a workhorse for Pittsburgh in 2021. Some of that had to do with now retired Ben Roethlisberger’s poor play. It’s still to be seen what impact Mitchell Trubisky will have on the Steelers, and if Harris will continue going the Derrick Henry route and being the emphasis of Pittsburgh’s offense. How does this impact his fantasy value?
